I believe I'll be adding two other babies to my sculpt list. A tiny Were-Panther newborn. And a little Dragon Hybrid newborn. Both will have sculpted heads and limbs, and doe suede bodies. The were-panther will be around 17-18" in length when finished and the dragon hybrid will be around 19-20". The were-panther will be exactly that a were-panther, a child born with both human and panther traits. The dragon hybrid will be similar in vision to the were-panther but with the child being a combination of dragon and human traits. They will be highly unique.
Thinking maybe a little boy skully in elf/santa pjs, a little girl skully is her Christmas finest, and maybe a skully Christmas bear hanging ornaments on a tree. But we'll see what actually comes about.
Now in my sculpted doll nursery (littlemoonnursery.com) I have used vinyl limbs rather then sculpting them with my larger head sculpts, but I've never done a complete kit including rooting the hair. So this should be interesting as heck.

I did not choose a high quality or expensive vinyl kit to attempt my first reborn baby. The kit I ordered has minor flaws that I am sure I can work around. The kit is by Sandra White and it's called Leah.

So yup. That's what I'll be jumping into in a week or so.

It's A Boy! He's in the post blush and sculpt stage, currently firing in my oven. I love the smell of curing clay in the late afternoon. lol. I think he is a true cutie.

Well today I did manage to get a few sculpts on ebay. Some from quite some time ago. 2 sea snail dragons, an alien baby, monkey baby, baby boy, a zombie panda, and my 2 teeny tiny mouse fae. I do have a new sculpt in the making right now though. Taking my time on him. Progress and pics coming soon enough.Jennifer Razouxhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01125700160307110217noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6378196254442360483.post-45618436535451665792011-02-17T12:23:00.000-08:002011-02-17T12:43:46.520-08:00IADR February Contest EntryAlrighty everyone. I'm actually already most of the way through sculpting the torso, not bad for me and my procrastinating ways! So the theme for IADR's February Contest is "Art Of The Soul". So I've decided to do the most evident emotion for me....all of them! My piece will be called "Freedom in Madness" and will feature a fierce female lycae (werewolf) during her first freeing of her beast! I think the piece may be a bit frightening, but as I see it she's being freed of her torn emotions and allowing her rage to become bliss!

I'll post pictures as it comes together or at least once I have a head sculpted.Jennifer Razouxhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01125700160307110217noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6378196254442360483.post-6197081745686113572011-02-02T18:11:00.000-08:002011-02-02T18:15:08.947-08:00Dragon Pup (the hatchling)Alrighty pics as promised, and I'll try for better pics in the AM!

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_drfgRFtOPUc/TUoPg0CLeGI/AAAAAAAAAI8/gaUSLmLnQK0/s200/DSCF6274.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5569280945595054178" />
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 150px; height: 200px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_drfgRFtOPUc/TUoPgmpjYjI/AAAAAAAAAI0/uAYcvtDrH9w/s200/DSCF6282.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5569280942002102834" />
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_drfgRFtOPUc/TUoPgT4V5DI/AAAAAAAAAIs/hHIDzivNVDs/s200/DSCF6275.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5569280936963859506" />Jennifer Razouxhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01125700160307110217noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6378196254442360483.post-38930414499229488972011-02-02T17:38:00.000-08:002011-02-02T17:48:30.162-08:00Dragon Hatchling...almost ready for pics!!!The dragon hatchling is now completely sculpted and I'm pretty certain this is the last layer of paint this little cutie is getting. After the wings and paint are cured and the baby has had a little freezer time (adding strength), I'll grab a few pics to share.

As I said it's a dragon hatchling, also called a dragon pup. It's not anatomically correct, so he or she is up to you! The pup's color is mainly red and black, but there's some blushing that's purple/blue/brown. The eyes are still sealed shut and the scales are premature, a lot like a freshly hatched baby bird. The wings are small and a little transparent.

I really really like this little one and I'm having trouble with the idea of parting ways with it! This dragon hatchling is so adorable!Jennifer Razouxhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01125700160307110217noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6378196254442360483.post-5014093620132272442011-02-02T08:14:00.000-08:002011-02-02T08:22:09.256-08:00Dragon Hatchling in the works....So I've busy working on my Little Moon Nursery website and making babies for the nursery! But today I decided I wanted to do a dragon hatchling for Valentine's Day! So the hatchling will be seriously fresh from the egg. Her eyes not yet open and her scales still premature giving a baby bird sort of effect! Because I want her to be for Valentine's Day I've decided her colors will be red and black.

I just finished sculpted and adding her first layer of paint, and she's firing now. I'll be taking a break for coffee and a snack, then I'll work on giving her a cute little curled up body..wings and all! Check back for pics of her.Jennifer Razouxhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01125700160307110217noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6378196254442360483.post-27090288342834424532010-12-24T11:56:00.000-08:002010-12-24T11:58:55.922-08:00Finally have a nursery website up and running for the babies....Little Moon Nursery. That's the name of the new nursery and website to showcase the ooak babies I've been so steadily working on recently. I'll be adding a link to the right soon, but here's the website for anyone interested.

www.littlemoonnursery.com

Chow.JenniferJennifer Razouxhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01125700160307110217noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6378196254442360483.post-40955770242198335882010-12-24T11:50:00.000-08:002010-12-24T11:56:21.458-08:00Arctic Mermaid...Finally a new mermaid! She's about 7" long (if stretched out). Painted with an oil/chalk/bond mixture and glazed with lacquer and glitter. Tibetian wool in baby blonde for her hair. She's the Arctic Mermaid and here's the link to her auction and a slideshow. She's about 10" tall on her base and just breathe-taking. Her hair is handset red, brown, white, and blonde viscose fibers twisted into dreads with fabric stiffener. She has tiny pearls throughout her hair. She's playing with floatastic kelp! Her tail is painted a shimmering golden orange and her side fins are posable.

Jennifer Razouxhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01125700160307110217noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6378196254442360483.post-61419113955727477552010-08-16T17:28:00.000-07:002010-08-16T17:30:11.853-07:00Mermaid In Progress...updates...Here are a few updated photos of Seraphine and her finished base.

Jennifer Razouxhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01125700160307110217noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6378196254442360483.post-11088092462956112722010-08-06T19:26:00.000-07:002010-08-06T19:32:28.234-07:00Mermaid In Progress...pics and a nameThe name I've given this fiery goldfish mermaid is Seraphine, meaning buring fire. Today I added a little more bulk to her tail to even her up and sculpted her head. I used lovely reflective pink pearl beads for her eyes, gives an eerie but breathless appearance. I also added a bit of genesis paints to the face to give her a more realistic skin tone. Then blushed her cheeks and lips to add some color. Finally used some orange, skin tones, and browns to add depth and a stormy goldfish effect for their eyes.

I'll be adding progress photos in a little bit. I'll also be finishing the tail, fins, and ears this evening.Jennifer Razouxhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01125700160307110217noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6378196254442360483.post-11432644200540404992010-08-04T10:57:00.000-07:002010-08-04T11:07:04.683-07:00Mermaid In Progress...I've just started on a new mermaid. My vision is to have a beautiful sunkissed mermaid kneeling in the sand taking in the sunrise! Her body in a subtle, but sexy upright pose with one hand (at least, maybe both) tangled in her lovely hair. Again this is my vision...but these things often change as my work comes together. Since she is to be a sunkissed mermaid her tail and fins will probably be very warm colors. We'll see.

I begun bulking up her armature last night and will likely take a few photos of that this evening before I start working on her again. I'll try my very hardest to take lots of progress picks and post them.Jennifer Razouxhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01125700160307110217noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6378196254442360483.post-31570379495497266172010-08-04T10:52:00.000-07:002010-08-04T10:57:54.953-07:00International Merbabies: Ravana, Ningyo, and MadelineLovely 2.5" merbabies on circular bases. Ningyo is representing the Japanese mermaid featuring wispy black hair and a unique koi or dragon like red and black tail. Madeline is representing the Dutch mermaid featuring blonde hair and a sparkly green tail. Ravana features thick black hair and a glitterly blue and purple tail and she represents the Indian mermaid. All of the merbabies are one of a kind,sculpted from Premo clay, and hand painted with Genesis paints. These Dainty Dragons will resemble my first sculpt "Mindle" and come in a wide variety of colors, materials, poses, and so on! I've actually started this collection off with the creation of "Flutterfly" a baby FaeDragon and he's currently for adoption on ebay (search zaos or daintydragon). The webpage to the Dainty Dragons Adoption Center is www.daintydragons.com

My next big news is I've opened my Etsy Shop...finally. Etsy is a great place to buy and sell art. Here's the link... http://www.etsy.com/shop/zouxartJennifer Razouxhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01125700160307110217noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6378196254442360483.post-2444377892750784262010-06-15T17:57:00.000-07:002010-08-04T10:52:20.772-07:00Tails and Fins....butterfly wing template use...I've started experimenting with the idea I had for the fins on future mermaids and maybe fish and sea dragons using butterfly and dragonfly templates. I've made two copies of the butterfly wings (on ivory vallum paper). Then I've added I little more color to the wings with watercolor pencils. I then mixed up a bit of silver acrylic paint with gallery glass and painted a generous layer over the wings. Waited a few hours for the mixture to dry completely then laid the two sheet over eachother and cut equal boxes around the wings. I added some crazy sticky (clear drying) glue to the bottom side of one sheet, spread it into a thin layer, and lined the edges of the wings as best I could and let them dry. I laid a heavy book over the two sheets to ensure the edges would not curl. Once dry I trimed the wings out of the sheet and rearranged on a mermaid's armature to see the butterfly wing fins in action (two different positions). I am overall rather happy with the outcome.

Thanks for lookJennifer Razouxhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01125700160307110217noreply@blogger.com0
